👋🏼 Welcome to SwiftlyRush
Are we in the indie developer revolution?
I have always been a huge fan of people who can build and ship their own apps on the App Store. Infact, I have done this a few times myself (unsuccessfully I must add) but as iOS Developers it's very common to have that next "big app idea" and start building those given we have the tools to do just that.
In the early days of the App Store, it was extremely common to build a small indie app to make an extra few bucks 💰 and it was relatively easy to do so because the App Store was new, under populated and an exciting time for consumers.
After several years things changed and the App Store became much more complex to make that few extra money and lots of developers become whipped up by larger companies looking to offer an app on the App Store, which meant indie developers became an even smaller community.
However, in this era I believe we have done full circle and the indie developer community is incredibly sized now in comparison, and it's incredible to watch because I believe someone who can build, design and ship an app that can compete within this marketplace is a great achievement.
If you have the next "big app idea" go for it, get something built and take the leap, perhaps you can invest some money for an awesome designer to help, but take the leap and see what you can achieve!
Have a great week ahead!
