ππΌ Welcome to SwiftlyRush
It's the end of the first week of January, and I know it can be overwhelming when reading posts on social media about what you're going to achieve in the year ahead. My advice to you is to take your time, don't feel pressured to achieve the world.
For sure, I always make personal goals for the year ahead and in fact, I have done this for the last 6 years as mentioned in last weeks edition, but looking at the posts on social media can be overwhelming. If you're not ready to set your goals for the year, then don't feel pressured and take your time.
Also, you might not want to set any goals for the year and that is also fine. Be yourself, and it will come!
This week is the release of my brand new article covering MetricKit, it's all about getting started, and in time I hope I can dig deeper inside MetricKit, I hope you like it :]
π₯³ What's New
MetricKit - Getting Started
MetricKit is a new framework launched in 2019, and its sole purpose is to enable you to track the performance of your iOS applications.
It was never easy monitoring your apps, in fact, it was near impossible. Now, with this framework, it makes it all possible.
Swift While Loops - SwiftlyRush
The Swift language contains many core concepts that are important to understand and keep in your toolbox ready to be used when building your iOS applications.
While Loops are a great tool to keep in mind with a very clear use-case. I hope you find this brief but important article useful.
An Interview with AppForce1
I am not going to lie, it was a little strange being interviewed by a colleague, but I can promise this podcast interview was lined up prior to us both joining Stream.
Nevertheless, it was a blast! If you're interested in my story, how I launched a conference during a global pandemic, then this is for you π

For sure the UICollectionView is a powerful component inside UIKit, and even out of the box it contains many powerful tools.

Using AppStorage with complex objects and SwiftUI Pickers by Chris Wu
Often, developing apps using either SwiftUI or UIKit is all about playing with the API and as Paul Hudson says "Hacking with Swift". I love how Chris has blogged about his experiment using AppStorage with complex objects using the SwiftUI Pickers.

How I took my SaaS from idea to sold in 14 months by Joe Masilotti
Something a little bit different this week, I stumbled across this article from Joe Masilotti.
Joe, created MugshotBot, Despite the name the concept was very simple, generate thumbnail images when sharing links via social media. It's actually a difficult concept to solve when building a website and is something that I recently worked on here at SwiftlyRush.
In this article he talks more about how it became an idea and sold within 14 months πΈ
π‘ And Finally...
How many times have we said this? π
