👋🏼 Welcome to SwiftlyRush
The iOS community has always been super strong, I remember the early days when someone in the community would push a small iOS application to the App Store and everyone would get behind it.
The App Store exploded with growth, in fact, the App Store today has almost 5 million apps available to download. Including, the ever depleting indie developer community.
The people that spend all of their time building a product that hopefully one day will be the "next big thing". I have always supported the indie community, and some of my friends are also indie developers, but the number is depleting because pushing an iOS app is not anywhere near as easy as previously.
This week, we saw Twitter explode with anger as a well known popular game Wordle was copied. Copy-cat apps have always been a problem, but stealing the name is the next level.
I do hope Apple, will clamp down on this quickly.

Execute Code After Delay Using asyncAfter()
Despite our brand new concurrency in Swift, executing code with a delay isn't all that easy using async/await. So, despite this using the Dispatch framework is still my favourite; you can do this very easy in this simple yet powerful article.

Swift Heroes - Swift Conference in Italy
It looks like in-person conferences are returning and I am so excited to see that SwiftHeroes has announced that return this year. It's a great conference hosting both online and in-person. They have also announced the Call For Papers, so if you're thinking about speaking this year, why not apply?
💡 And Finally...
Given my thoughts about indie developers, this week I wanted to link to one of the great indie developers Jordi Bruin, who consistently publishes new apps that provide a real need for real people.
