Do you think async working could be the future?
It's a bold statement, right? Unfortunately, I don't have enough information of the market to say yes or no and to be honest it's not something I think I could even get an accurate answer on.
However, the question got me thinking this week because I entered this way of working (almost a full year ago) when joining Circuit. I had heard of async working previously but like most things you never really understand or appreciate that until you actually work in that way.
I can hand on heart say that it's possibly the best change I have had in a very long time, it's made me realise that human beings aren't designed to function 100% through a static pre-defined time range that has been set in stone for decades. Who defined the 9-5 working schedule?
Having a more flexible async working pattern means I can completely understand how my body and brain operates and capitalise on the most productive moments to get things done. I realise that I have bursts of energy during the evening that I can really capitalise on and get huge productivity rewards.
It means that I can use my other time for more simple life tasks that need doing, like responding to messages or pick the kids up from school 🫣
What do you think? Would you explore async working?
